Pigmented Lesions are all the result of the accumulation of excess melanin, the substance that gives our skin its color. Traditional methods for the removal of pigmented lesions include camouflage makeup, dermabrasion, chemical peeling, and surgical excision. Remove Pigmented Lesions with Laser Technology

Dr. Mitchell will use the latest, State-of-the-Art Laser Technology to target a concentrated beam of light at specific areas of the skin. The lasers used to treat pigmented lesions target the melanin in these lesions. The melanin is vaporized into much smaller molecules that are then absorbed and removed by the body.

The Procedure

During the procedure, you will feel no more than a minor discomfort when the laser is fired, often described as a rubber band being snapped on the skin, and the procedure will usually take no longer than thirty minutes.

Sometimes, for more darkly pigmented lesions multiple treatments may be necessary. Small, lightly colored lesions are usually gone after one treatment. If you need multiple treatments, Dr. Mitchell requires at least six weeks between sessions for healing to occur. At this point, results may be accurately assessed from the previous session.
