Dr Mitchell has a varied educational backgound.  He graduated from the Univ. of Tennessee in 1962 with a B.S. in Pharmacy.  He practiced retail pharmacy at City Drug Co. in Paragould from 1962-1970. Then he practiced hospital pharmacy at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center from 1970-1971.  He then attended the Univ. of Arkansas for Medical Sciences where he earned a Master of Science degree in Pharmacology in 1974 and a Doctor of Medicine degree in 1976.  After a one year flexible internship at St Vincent Infirmary in Little Rock he and his family returned to Paragould where he did family practice from 1977 to 2006.
He added cosmetic laser surgery to the practice in January of 2006.  When he closed his practice on Sept. 1, 2006 he moved to the present location at 2210 W. Kingshighway Suite # 6 where the practice was expanded with 2 more lasers and the addition of Botox and Juvederm filler injections.  Also a massage therapist along with a boutique selling gift items and skin products was added.

He continues a limited practice of medicine by doing Emergency room work as well as continuing as medical director (for over 20 years) at Bellemeade Nursing Center in Paragould.
